Welcome! My name is Jackson Goodrum and I am a qualified personal trainer. I recently walked away from a corporate career in London to re-focus on an area I am truly passionate about. After a very challenging few months working out a new direction to head in, I came to the realisation that I could no longer continue down a path that so was clearly at odds with my interests, skills and values. I had previously toyed with the idea of entering the fitness industry, but for many reasons (often irrational ones) had decided I couldn’t. I wish I had listened to myself sooner!

Prioritising my own health, wellbeing and fitness has transformed my life. I now feel extremely fortunate and excited to be in a position where I can support others to change their lives too.

Before we meet though, here are a few things you should know about me. I have experienced plenty of ups and downs through my own exercise journey. As a late teenager I was playing rugby to a high standard and throwing javelin at a national level. Unfortunately, I then had to undergo major spinal surgery after fracturing my L5 in five places. After successful surgery I went on to University, competing in the national rowing championships. Since then my real focus has been on keeping fit, strong and mobile while mitigating against injury risk. This includes a real focus on exercise to support and strength my mental wellbeing too. I’m also an avid skier, enjoy a long bike ride in the Peak District, and have competed on and off for five years in motorsport. For me, the real prize is a walking trip in the Scottish Highlands with friends.

I am currently offering a limited number of online coaching consultations as I progress towards a predominantly in-person practice in Derbyshire.
